- Basic editing services are billed hourly at a rate of $50 per hour. These services provide much more than merely checking a document for spelling and punctuation problems. Skillful editing involves evaluating the document’s appropriateness for audience, word choice level, logically sequenced ideas, sentence clarity and many other features.
- Most other services involve proposals which specify a fee after the scope and nature of the work has been carefully defined.
- Such services as writing skills analysis and coaching and presentation coaching may be conducted either onsite or online using, for example, Skype or FaceTime. If work is conducted onsite, travel, lodging and other expenses will be determined separately from consulting fees.
- Web design, construction and maintenance fees are determined by the complexity of the job. Fees for web site revision are usually figured by the hour and are specified before revisions begin.
